Ilhas Studio — (A)MAR 3rd Seminar
Visual identity for the 3rd seminar organized by the LGBTQIA+ center (A)MAR.
In October 2022, the centre launched its first seminar on Sexual and Gender Diversity on São Miguel island and has held it annually since. For the 2025 edition, ilhas studio was invited to continue promoting the event.
Building on the graphic identity created in 2021, we continued to explore color and the blurring of boundaries between them. This blurring also refers to the way in which many issues relating to sexual diversity are not watertight. To this image, we added a blurred typography that contrasts with the serifed and elegant typography used for the speakers’ names. In this way, we sought to create an image that appeals to more formal audiences, but also to audiences from a community that is always caught between the weight of history and hope for the future.
About (A)MAR
(A)MAR is the first support center for the LGBTI population in the Autonomous Region of the Azores. Prior to its founding, the Azores archipelago had no organizations dedicated to protecting or supporting LGBTIAQ+ communities.
With speakers from diverse areas and professions, this seminar gives visibility to the LGBTQIA+ population, fights, questions and politics.
