The exhibition focuses on how Júlio Pomar thought about the artistic genre of the portrait over more than 70 years, going through various periods, from Neo-realism, in the 1940s, until 2018, the year he died. Portrait painting and drawing give an account, in part, of the various relationships that the artist established with different people, his most personal circle of contact, and with notable figures from different domains of Portuguese society.
