We were invited to make the rebrand of 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, when 1-54 extended London fair to Marrakech and New York.
Based on the original idea of the logo a 54 squares grid that enlightens fair name meaning “1 continent: 54 countries”.
We developed a flexible system based on two elements: the grid and a line. The grid is the house for a playful way of displaying content and the line extends to embrace each city. Our approach centres in opening up space for 1-54 to grow.
Every city has a slightly different design an each year we have one main colour broken in three shades for each city.
We redesigned all the print and digital materials including website.
