From 2015 to 2021, ilhas studio shaped the visual identity for several editions of the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair.
The graphic system, defined by vibrant colors, adaptable layouts, and strong typography, balanced flexibility for each edition with a unified and recognizable brand aesthetic.
Its application spanned a wide range of outputs, including stationery, posters, venue sheets, catalogues, merchandising, signage, exhibition design, banners, newsletters, websites, animated graphics, and application design.

1-54 is the first and only international fair dedicated to contemporary African art. With three editions per year—in London, New York and Marrakech, 1-54 is the leading global art fair committed to providing visibility to contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. The fair’s name draws reference to the fifty-four countries that constitute the African continent.
1-54 is held annually in London, New York, and Marrakech. The visual system assigns a primary color to each edition, subdivided into three shades to differentiate the cities while maintaining a cohesive identity.
