Graphic identity and website for the project PIPOP , “Portal de Informação Português de Oncologia Pediátrica” (Portuguese Pediatric Oncology Information Portal).
The work developed for PIPOP was a ground-up effort that began with the creation of its new logo. For this creation, it was essential to understand the work of the Rui Osório de Castro Foundation and its commitment to disseminating information about paediatric cancer to families, friends and young cancer patients. This work, based on resilience and the knowledge that every day is a day of struggle, leads us to think about the fact that every day the sun also has to rise to bring us the light we need. Every day, young cancer patients do the same thing as the sun. They get up and face each day together with their families and friends. This first step led us to build the Pipop website: a site that we wanted to be comprehensive but accessible. This was one of the biggest challenges of this platform. We managed to include a wealth of information that was understandable and easy to read. To achieve this, it was essential to work together with PIPOP and a medical literacy office, which helped us to adapt the design to people and patients who are in moments of great vulnerability.
