In 2022, ilhas studio was invited to design the new visual identity for FUSO and FUSO INSULAR.
Drawing from the concept of the time zone (“fuso horário” in Portuguese) the identity takes inspiration from the lines that define the different time zones.
About FUSO:
Founded in 2009, FUSO is Lisbon’s only open-air video art festival, presented in distinctive locations such as gardens and museum cloisters. With free admission, the festival brings together artists, curators, institutions, and the general public engaged in moving-image practices.
Launched in 2019, FUSO INSULAR extends the festival’s mission to the Azores, addressing a gap in the region’s artistic landscape by fostering knowledge, training, and critical engagement with moving-image art.
Linear structures and elliptical forms reference shifting time zones and became defining elements of the visual system.
